Alejandra Laviada
(Mexico City, 1980)

She studied her Bachelor Degree in Painting at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence in the United States. She has a MBA in Photography, Video and Other Media from the School of Visual Arts, New York. Currently she lives and works in Mexico City. She has exhibited her work, both collectively and individually, in countries such as Spain, England, Finland, France, Guatemala, and throughout the United States and Mexico. Among other prizes and residencies, she has been awarded with FONCA's Jóvenes Creadores (Young Creators) scholarship, the Acquisition Prize of the XIV Biennial of Photography of the Image Center of Mexico City; Discoveries Prize of the Photography Festival of Spain, and several prizes for emerging photographers. Her work is part of collections such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Bank of America Photography Collection; Center of the Image of Mexico; Fundación Televisa, Mexico; Kells Collection, Spain; Fidelity Art Collection, USA; Banregio Collection, Mexico; Gensollen Collection from Marseille, France. In addition, she has published in multiple books and magazines.
